Racing fans will be descending on Prestbury Park in Cheltenham as the star National hunt horse race for record prize money. Day one looks to be all about the Henderson trained Buveur D’Air as the slick hurdler looks to maintain his Champion hurdle title from 2017 and his unbeaten run that dates back from the 2016 Supreme Novices hurdle. He is the current 8/15 market leader with Paddy Power.
The key race of the meeting however is of course the 2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup. The latest Gold Cup betting has another Henderson trained horse in Might Bite as the 4/1 favourite. Sired by Scorpion he also has his quirks as displayed in last season’s RSA but there is no doubting his ability and he likely to take all the beating come Friday. His main challenge for the title could come from the 2017 winner Sizing John. He is returning following a lacklustre display but if he brings in the same form as last year he is likely to take some stopping.
