Tesla shares are shooting near all-time highs as the company announced that the mass-market Model 3 is on schedule and that the company expects to start delivering vehicles to customers in late 2017. Production will start mid-year for this model that has scores thousands of pre-orders.
While there have been some news reports of some consumers cancelling their orders due to Elon Musk’s positive comments about Donald Trump, that doesn’t seem to have a material effect on overall orders.
The Tesla Model 3 will be priced at $35,000 and achieves a range of 215 miles per charge, making it a more practical everyday vehicle. It also will hit zero to 60 in less than six seconds and seats 5 adults.
