Erin Hills hosts the U.S. Open

Erin Hills is located in Wisconsin northwest of Milwaukee. The golf course is a recent design of just over ten years and was the scene for this year’s The U.S. Open. Looking at the website, you’ll see the course has an interesting design as it’s cut out of a wooded area but doesn’t have trees on most of the holes. It seems like a hybrid of classic British links and an American course. If you’re looking for a unique course to play, this one could be worth the trip!

Former Florida State All-American Brooks Koepka captured the title for the 117th edition of the U.S. Open. Koepka shot a 5-under-par 67, finishing at 16 under par for the tournament. Scores like this are pretty rare for the U.S. Open, so perhaps the lack of tree hazards made this course a little easier for the pros.

Koepka shows off his trophy!
