Cadillac has unveiled it’s all-new 2021 Escalade, one of the undisputed leaders in the luxury, large SUV market. The Escalade is a beautiful beast and has been completely redesigned with an emphasis on new technologies, a critical element in the luxury market.
On the outside, the styling hasn’t changed much. Cadillac’s signature vertical lighting element remains, but the Escalade now features the horizontal headlamps that are being introduced on Cadillac vehicles. I like this new design feature and it works great on the overall look of the massive Escalade.
The interior has much more of a futuristic design while providing all the comforts you would expect from Cadillac. The industry-first curved OLED display offers more than 38 inches of total diagonal display area, with twice the pixel density of a 4K television. The system includes three screens: a 7.2-inch-diagonal touch control panel driver information center to the driver’s left, a 14.2-inch-diagonal cluster display behind the steering wheel and a 16.9-inch-diagonal Infotainment screen to the driver’s right. This emphasis on the driver experience using visual aids will help Cadillac maintain it’s leadership position in this very profitable segment.
Other features include:
– Augmented Reality-enabled navigation
– Surround Vision
– Trailering Integration Package, which offers up to nine camera views
– Night Vision
– New rear-seat entertainment features a pair of 12.6-inch-diagonal independent touch displays
The Escalade isn’t a performance SUV like the German options, but it provides plenty of power and a super-smooth ride with its 6.2-liter V8 that generates 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet. The Escalade also features a 10-speed automatic transmission.
If you’re looking for a big, luxury experience, you can’t go wrong with the new Escalade.
