The U.S. Open kicks off today at the iconic South Course at Torrey Pines, one of the more beautiful and famous golf courses in the country. Top contenders include Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth, while home town favorite Phil Mickelson is a long shot despite coming off his historic victory at the PGA championship.
Torrey Pines is actually a municipal course so you can schedule a tee time and play, unlike many of the private club course that host the U.S. Open.
If you’re going to travel to the San Diego area to play Torrey Pines, or if you just want to find a luxury resort in the area, then check out The Lodge at Torrey Pines. You can see the beauty of the AAA Five Diamond rated resort in the photo above from the website. It overlooks the Torrey Pines Golf Course with views of the Pacific Ocean and also features world-class dining, a full-service spa and excellent service.
I stayed there several years ago and experienced the resort. The craftsmanship through the resort is impressive. Even small details like the chair and bed in the rooms pictured below feature quality and craftsmanship. It offers a wonderful experience with a variety of room packages. Check it out!
