Cleveland has become a mecca for foodies as the restaurant scene continues to improve. Lakewood is a suburb immediately west of Cleveland along Lake Erie and offers an impressive variety of dining options, from older ethnic spots to great bar food and a number of excellent restaurants as well.
Sarita is located on one of the main streets in town, and one is immediately struck by the simple but elegant décor. You’re immediately put at ease, and the wait staff is excellent.
We started our meal with some cocktails, and I had a delicious Old Fashioned that as expertly made. I knew we were in for a treat. The menu offers a robust variety of American fare with plenty of meat and fish dishes, along with pasta a pizzas. The waitress walked us through the specials, and we easily decided on the bison appetizer picture below along with the crab cakes appetizer. Both were spectacular.
I couldn’t resist the molten blue cheese encrusted beef tenderloin entre which turned out to be a fantastic choice. The beef was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth.
We passed on deserts in favor of another cocktail, capping off a lovely evening.
If you’re traveling to Cleveland you’ll have plenty of excellent restaurant options in the downtown area, but if you venture to the west side, Sarita is a fantastic choice. The prices are reasonable given the quality of the food and the ambiance.
